The third AWTG of the winter series was a great success tonight. Blanchard hosted it in fine style, utilizing their newly finished kitchen facilities in the fellowship hall. The subs were delicious!
The congregation is blessed with a number of talented and enthuastic songleaders; the worship was inspiring. The lesson was delivered by a teen, Jack Dodgen, from the North MacArthur Church. An estimated 400+ filled the new auditorium.

The October AWTG was a huge success with 340 arriving at North MacArthur on the 11th. A powerful lesson on Who Is God? featured an astronomy slideshow. Some of the main points were: God is near and God cares for you.

The good stewards working behind the scenes rushed around to accommodate feeding the extra hundred that showed up. We had a delicious meal of BBQ, chips, dessert, and cokes. A sign of the times (flu season) was the encouragement for all to use the hand sanitizer pumps. We appreciated Dave and Loretta Lucas for going as sponsors.

Another skate night is planned for January at Moore Skate. The next AWTG will be Nov. 8 at Blanchard. Mark it on your calendars so you won't miss out on the spiritual food and great fellowship!

The new series for the Fall / Winter AWTG is off to a great start. While a little longer drive than usual, the groups that assembled at Eastside in Duncan experienced a moving song service, an on-target lesson by Troy, and some rally good spahetti. The new theme is "Our Awesome God." The rainy trip didn't dampen the warm fellowship; thanks Tad.

The next AWTG will be Oct. 11 at North MacArthur in OKC. You don't want to miss any of this series.

The Area Wide Teen Gathering at Eastside in Midwest City was a huge success. Ranee and I had 14 kids with us. I saw groups that don't always get to attend. We had some new congregations from nearby. The service was one of meaningful worship. Clay Bryant lead a beautiful song service.
Kyle Wright from Cushing spoke on "Agree with one another." He noted people not treating people right is the lesson for us from I Corinthians. The key to unity is to look at Jesus on the cross. Fights, disputes, freedoms, rights - these are not worth Jesus' scars.
The host congregation served up tasty nachos and Frito chili pie in their nice multipurpose building. We got the group home as the lightning show began.

How fun! The wacky youth ministers met for a planning session today. The summer series started to gel after pencils and star burst were put away. Can you believe the theme for this summer's AWTG is "The Biggest Loser" ??? Plans include the Mariners/Rangers matchup and Six Flags as well various camp sessions. Watch for a firmed up schedule soon to be in mail boxes near you!

February AWTG in Norman
Westside provided the setting for another meaningful worship service tonight. Brett McKnight directed the beautiful singing. Jeremie Beller of Wilshire brought a right-on-target lesson on the "Serve One Another" passages of the N.T. His was easy to follow and retain: the pages of scripture are filled with examples and expectations for us to be servants. His three points were - we need to fill our days with: Selfless Service, Silent Service, and Service of Simple Acts.

Like Seminole, Blanchard, and Ada, these monthly gatherings of teens are well worth the effort. The youth groups (no matter what size congregation) would do well to attend as often as possible! A pat-on-the-back to all of you adults who make these trips happen. Let's continue to encourage our kids to meet new people and build friendships.

Youth Ministers and representatives will meet Feb. 18 at Westside to plan the summer activities.
